About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist - First Assistant to join our team at Mercy. As a key member of our Operating Room team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of surgical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring optimal exposure and visibility of the surgical field.
  • Utilize knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and physiology to perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
  • Maintain professional accountability for provision of patient care for assigned patients, evaluating the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers.
  • Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments, maintaining patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Surgical Technology experience or completion of certification from an accredited surgical technology program preferred.
  • Two years of experience in the Operating Room required.
  • Certified Surgical First Assistant certification within 90 days of hire/transfer required.
  • CST certification preferred.
