Key Qualifications

- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor, especially when interacting with diverse individuals, including those who may be upset or challenging.

- Strong communication abilities to foster positive relationships with colleagues, healthcare professionals, patients, and their families, as well as third-party payers.

- Capability to make sound independent decisions, demonstrate emotional intelligence, and exercise good judgment.

- A minimum of one year of customer service experience is preferred. Familiarity with ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding practices is advantageous. Knowledge of medical terminology is also beneficial. Relevant training or education may be considered in lieu of experience.

- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.

- Proficiency in understanding and applying a wide range of operational procedures.

- Strong organizational skills to optimize time management, productivity, and ensure smooth patient flow.

- Capacity to perform well in high-pressure situations and adapt to a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions.

- Competence in using computer systems effectively.

- Ability to read and write clearly with accurate spelling.

- Flexibility in work availability, including the potential to work outside of standard shifts as required by departmental needs.

- Some college coursework is preferred.

Shift Details

This role involves part-time hours during the first shift on weekdays, with weekend rotations as necessary. Work hours may vary according to departmental requirements. Responsibilities include registering patients in the emergency room and assisting with reception duties for incoming patients, as well as potential after-hours and weekend outpatient services.
