Child Welfare Case ManagerOverview

The Child Welfare Case Manager (CWCM) plays a crucial role in supporting families referred by the Department of Children and Families (DCF). The primary objective of the CWCM is to evaluate and respond to the needs of clients and their families arising from instances of suspected abuse or neglect, aiming to secure a stable and permanent environment for the children involved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete the Phase I Child Welfare Practice Pre-service Training program
  • Perform assessments to ensure child safety and create effective safety plans
  • Facilitate the delivery of services and manage referrals
  • Keep thorough case documentation and generate necessary reports
  • Assist in placement processes and promote independent living solutions
  • Engage in the Quality Improvement initiatives
Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Associate degree or 60+ college credits accompanied by two years of relevant work experience
  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of four years in social work or human services

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Current car insurance
