Position Summary

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and research potential funding sources, including government, corporate, and private foundations, aligning them with the strategic goals of Delta State University.
  • Provide guidance and training to faculty and staff throughout the proposal development process, including conducting workshops and offering personalized support.
  • Oversee grant timelines and maintain accurate tracking of grant applications and submissions.
  • Monitor the status of submitted proposals and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Revise and enhance the Grants Manual to reflect current best practices.
  • Prepare and submit necessary applications for Title II and Title V eligibility waivers.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of pending grants and contracts.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and issues in grant funding.
  • Engage regularly with faculty and staff to assess and address funding needs.
  • Ensure compliance with grant regulations and maintain awareness of relevant guidelines and communications.
  • Report on grant progress and any issues to the Executive Director of Sponsored Programs and Special Projects.
  • Collaborate with various university departments to manage grant funds and monitor expenditures.
  • Assist project directors with budget revisions and negotiate necessary changes with funding agencies.
  • Review travel requests and employment-related forms for grant-funded personnel, ensuring adherence to programmatic requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience in grant writing or proposal development.
  • Experience in developing and managing grant budgets.
  • Demonstrated success in securing funding opportunities.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to identify relevant funding opportunities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with a focus on implementing effective systems.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree.
  • Proven track record of securing significant grants with verifiable references.
  • Familiarity with the grant application process and funding cycles.
  • Experience with federal grant applications and fund management.
