Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Pulmonary Function Technician/Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Trinity Health Michigan. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic tests on patients, providing patient education, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic tests on patients, including spirometry measurements, vital lung capacity, functional residual capacity, and other pulmonary function testing as needed.
  • Provide patient education on the proper use of inhalers and nebulizers.
  • Complete all necessary documentation, including billing forms.
  • Maintain quality control procedures on test equipment.
  • Ensure a safe environment by sanitizing between patients and wearing proper PPE.
  • Assist ordering providers in ordering the correct tests for diagnosis.
  • Communicate with vendors and troubleshoot issues with test equipment.
  • Support and educate fellow PFT techs, train new hires, and work with students.
Requirements:
  • Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist licensed in the state of Michigan with a minimum of 2 years' experience in Respiratory Care.
  • Additional three years of related experience, including experience performing diagnostic tests on patients in all age groups.
  • Ability to instruct and be flexible with instruction to accommodate patients of different understanding levels.
  • Good understanding of ATS standards and contraindications of Pulmonary Function Testing.
  • Independent judgment and analytical skills, as well as a good understanding of respiratory physiology.
  • BLS certification.
Work Schedule:

48 hours per pay period, 1st shift hours, with weekends and holidays to be scheduled in accordance with the CBA.
