Job Summary

The Respite Specialist is a vital member of our team at Harbor House of Louisville, responsible for providing exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role requires a compassionate and dedicated individual who can foster a sense of community and belonging among our participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support and supervision to participants in community and respite settings.
  • Develop and implement activity plans that promote skill-building, socialization, and independence.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to ensure seamless program delivery and participant success.
  • Assist with medication administration and daily living activities as needed.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss program developments and participant progress.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of experience in the field of developmental disabilities or CNA certification preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
