Accounting Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Professional to join our team at Summit Credit Union. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the accounting functions within the credit union.
Key Responsibilities- Accounting Operations: Balance data received from data processing for the ACH and share draft posting exceptions, research and resolve member's questions about ACH and share draft postings, and verify return totals to actual credit received.
- Payroll and Benefits: Prepare, post, and balance payrolls, and prepare monthly investment spreadsheet and balance to the general ledger for management review.
- Financial Reporting: Post ledger entries and proof totals with general ledger/computer for fixed assets, pre-paid, and accruals, and prepare invoices for payment and issue accounts payable checks after receiving proper authorization.
- Reconciliation and Analysis: Balance credit union check deposit daily and other accounts as assigned, maintain debit card daily reconciliations, and prepare annual property tax reports for management review prior to remittance.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Assist VP of Accounting in gathering data and input of data for the quarterly 5300 Call Report, support accounting call queue, and prepare monthly CUSO financial statement and quarterly consolidated financial statement.
- Education and Experience: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent in Accounting, Audit, Business, or Finance from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to gain the trust of members, excellent judgment and discretion, ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle work-related stress, and ability to work independently and productively with minimum supervision.
