Oncology Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers. As a PRN RN, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients.
Responsibilities
Administer chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician. Maintain knowledge of drug reimbursement procedures. Complete all chemotherapy charge forms. Ensure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies. Demonstrate knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance, cleaning pumps after use, and proper documentation of pump usage. Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, including problems and symptom management. Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central lines catheter devices. Administer all medications using correct medication product, dosage/amount, route, time, and technique. Display appropriate technical skills for the administration of chemotherapy and medications, including venipuncture, central line access, and infusion devices. Program portable infusion pumps for continuous drug delivery and provide instruction to the patient and/or caregiver in the use of the pump at home. Document nursing assessments, patient teaching, and fluid and medication administration in the patient chart. Communicate all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Minimum two years nursing experience required, oncology experience preferred.

Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. All qualified candidates are required to pass a background check and non-federal drug test (which excludes marijuana) post offer of employment and prior to hire. Candidates will be required to show proof of being vaccinated against influenza upon commencing employment.
