Oncology Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at US Oncology Network-wide Career Opportunities. As an Oncology Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional cancer treatment.
Responsibilities
Administer chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician.
Maintain knowledge of drug reimbursement procedures and complete all chemotherapy charge forms.
Ensure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies.
Demonstrate knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance, cleaning pumps after use, and proper documentation of pump usage.
Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, including problems and symptom management.
Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central lines catheter devices.
Administer all medications using correct medication product, dosage/amount, route, time, and technique.
Display appropriate technical skills for the administration of chemotherapy and medications, including venipuncture, central line access, and infusion devices.
Document nursing assessments, patient teaching, and fluid and medication administration in the patient chart.
Communicate all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education.
RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Minimum two years nursing experience required, oncology experience preferred.

Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
