Bridge Construction Inspector

We are seeking a skilled Bridge Construction Inspector to join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a Bridge Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction process of bridges, ensuring compliance with contract documents and plans, and monitoring work zone and traffic control operations.

• Verify the work and daily activities of road and bridge construction crews to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans
• Monitor and document work zone and traffic control operations
• Complete Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs) for assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, and materials incorporated into the project
• Take measurements, calculate quantities, and perform engineering-related computations
• Operate relevant material testing equipment
• Provide technical assistance and help resolve challenges related to construction operations
• Attend pre-construction meetings and progress meetings
• Help coordinate project start-up activities
• Assist with in-service bridge inspections and bridge project scoping

• High School diploma required; Associate degree in civil technology or related field desired
• Candidates must have a valid driver's license
• Minimum 5 years of related bridge construction/inspection experience preferred
• Knowledge of MDOT specifications a plus
• Able to work in a team environment and have good communication skills
• Basic computer knowledge/skills
• MDOT Certifications required
