Job Title: Benefits Manager II

We are seeking an experienced Benefits Manager II to join our team at Sierra Nevada Corporation. As a key member of our corporate team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive employee benefits programs that attract, retain, and motivate top talent.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Evaluate and analyze existing benefits programs to ensure they are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and recommend necessary updates.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to employees regarding benefits options, enrollment processes, and claims resolution.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs to promote employee understanding and utilization of benefits.
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to align benefits strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Work with Finance to prepare and manage the benefits budget and fringe rate, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure the accuracy and integrity of benefits data and processes.
  • Lead and mentor a team of benefits specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in benefits management with a proven track record of designing and managing successful benefits programs.
  • 4+ years of benefits management on the employer side, leading people.
  • In-depth knowledge of employee benefits laws and regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, ACA, and HIPAA.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a commitment to fostering a positive team culture.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, mentor & develop team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Certification or alike (CBP, etc.).
  • Experience using Workday.
  • Service Contract Act (SCA) knowledge and application.
