Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Behavior Intervention Specialist to join our team at Kids Connections Developmental Therapy Center. In this role, you will work under the guidance of an ABA supervisor to provide support and instruction to clients across various educational environments, including home, community, and school settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized behavior intervention strategies as outlined by the BCBA, adapting to each client's unique educational and physical requirements.
- Deliver one-on-one and group instruction in diverse settings, ensuring adherence to ABA principles to promote consistent care.
- Assist clients in developing essential life skills, including personal hygiene and self-care routines.
- Collect and maintain accurate records of client progress, contributing to the evaluation and adjustment of treatment plans.
- Prepare instructional materials and set up learning environments to facilitate effective teaching.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through meetings, workshops, and training sessions to stay current with ABA methodologies.
- Maintain confidentiality and foster positive relationships with clients and their families.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; BCAT certification is preferred or must be obtained shortly after hiring.
- Strong understanding of child development and behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors and promote positive social interactions among clients.
Work Environment: This position involves working in a supportive and collaborative environment, with opportunities for both independent and team-based tasks. Flexibility in scheduling may be required to accommodate client needs.
