Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Radiology Associates of Hartford PC. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized MRI and radiographic procedures and examinations for radiological diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI and radiographic procedures and examinations, accurately interpreting physician's scanning instructions and routine procedural protocols.
  • Administer contrast materials, prepare, and operate MR equipment, associated software, devices, and position patients to capture the appropriate images.
  • Maintain effective communication with radiologists, patients, and their families, as well as other healthcare professionals.
  • Document patient-related information in the radiology information system in a timely manner, based on patient and radiologist workflow.
  • Perform quality control and reporting tasks, setting up and conducting MRI procedures, maintaining day-to-day schedules, assisting radiologists, and contributing to the efficient operation of the department.
  • Screen patients, employees, and visitors to maintain a magnetically safe environment, adhering to American College of Radiology standards.
  • Acquire patients' chart data/requisition and review both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications to the study, and verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.
  • Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment, and exam to ensure understanding and safety.
  • Provide coverage as needed, including in the event of call-off or extended patient schedules.
  • Provide instruction/mentoring to new hires and continuously strive to learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation programs.

Requirements
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), MRI certification required within 12 months of employment
  • Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (RTR) and Connecticut Radiographer License
  • Two years of MRI technologist experience
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
