Job Overview

Position Summary: The Medical Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a variety of diagnostic radiographic procedures, including emergency, surgical, fluoroscopic, and portable imaging.
  • Select and utilize appropriate radiographic equipment and accessories to ensure successful imaging outcomes.
  • Interpret and execute orders from referring physicians accurately.
  • Adhere to safety protocols for radiation protection in accordance with established hospital guidelines.
  • Assist medical professionals in procedures that require sterile techniques.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media necessary for imaging examinations.
  • Evaluate patients' conditions before and during imaging procedures to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Deliver exceptional patient care throughout the imaging process.
  • Verify and document patients' clinical histories relevant to the procedures being performed.
  • Undertake additional departmental tasks as required.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repairs on imaging equipment, reporting any issues to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Education: Must be a graduate of an American Medical Association-approved program in Radiologic Technology or meet the educational requirements for Texas certification as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.

Experience: Entry-level graduates in Radiologic Technology may be considered based on shift requirements and technical responsibilities.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Must be certified or temporarily certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
  • ARRT (R) certification in Radiology is required or must be eligible for ARRT (R) certification, with the understanding that certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • BLS certification is mandatory as per healthcare policy.

Additional Requirements: Candidates must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, unless an approved medical or religious exemption is provided.

Shift Details: Various shifts available including 7p-7a, 7a-7p, or rotating schedules, with rotating weekends and on-call duties to be discussed during the interview process.
