Job Summary:

The Assistant General Manager at MCR Hotels assists the General Manager in ensuring guest satisfaction, efficient hotel operations, and achieving hotel profitability. This role involves supervising and supporting various hotel departments, including Guest Services, Food & Beverage, Engineering, Accounting, Sales, and Housekeeping. The Assistant General Manager must be able to communicate effectively with team members and guests, and ensure that all levels of service are maintained in accordance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist the General Manager in the development of managerial and hourly employees through the implementation of corporate and brand training programs.
* Ensure the efficient operation of the hotel in the absence of the General Manager by supervising and supporting the Guest Services, Food & Beverage, Food Production, Engineering, Accounting, Sales, and Housekeeping departments.
* Participate in required Manager on Duty coverage as scheduled.
* Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.

Requirements:

* Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
* Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
* Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
* Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
* Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying, and resolving the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
* Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
* Must be proficient in Windows operating systems, company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
* Must have a high school diploma or GED.
* Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
* Must have a desire to serve all guests.
* Must meet the legal age to serve alcoholic beverages (at select properties).

Preferred Qualifications:

* Previous supervisory experience preferred.
* Progressive experience in the hotel industry, including Rooms and Food & Beverage departments.
