Job Title: Journals Production Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Journals Production Coordinator to join our team at The Pennsylvania State University Press.

Job Summary:

The Journals Production Coordinator will be responsible for managing the production workflow for a portfolio of titles in our expanding journals program. This includes coordinating production schedules, ensuring an ongoing workflow of manuscripts and proofs among editors, copyeditors, compositors, and printers, and maintaining the journal's database for annual journal records, schedules, contact details, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate production schedules and ensure timely completion of projects
  • Manage the production process from receipt of accepted manuscripts through print and digital publication
  • Maintain the journal's database for annual journal records, schedules, contact details, and reporting
  • Assist with new journal acquisitions as needed
  • Archiving and maintaining production records
Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess a solid grasp of basic copyright law, copyediting, and online editorial workflows. Familiarity with software programs for managing journals, such as Aries's Editorial Manager or VirtuSales's Biblio, is a plus. This is an onsite position in University Park, and the successful candidate will be required to submit both a resume and cover letter for their application.
