Job Summary:

The Radiation Therapy Specialist performs age-specific therapeutic radiation procedures as ordered by a physician to assist in the treatment of cancer and other patients. This role requires identifying and resolving treatment-related problems using available resources, assisting other members of the treatment team, and promoting professional relationships with colleagues.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs therapeutic radiation procedures as ordered by a physician
  • Identifies and resolves treatment-related problems using available resources
  • Assists other members of the treatment team
  • Promotes professional relationships with colleagues
  • Performs other duties as needed
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree or completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology Program
  • Two years of professional experience
  • Knowledge of accurate placement of custom blocking devices and subsequent alignment with marked patient anatomy
  • Computer data input and manipulation of hand pendant/motorized table control panels
Skills:
  • Ability to read, write legibly, and speak in English with professional quality
  • Ability to use computer and software programs necessary to the position
  • Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment
  • Ability to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
Licensures and Certifications:
  • National American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy
  • California State Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in Radiation Therapy
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
