Patient Service Representative

In this position, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks essential for the smooth operation of our practice. Your duties will include:

  • Verifying patient information and insurance details.
  • Processing payments and handling inquiries via phone.
  • Updating patient records and ensuring accurate billing information.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional customer service while fostering a welcoming and positive atmosphere. You should be self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.

As a Patient Service Representative, proficiency in using office equipment such as computers, telephones, and fax machines is essential. Familiarity with patient scheduling software and electronic medical records will be beneficial.

This is a part-time role, requiring 24-27 hours per week, typically spread over three days with no evening or weekend shifts. Flexibility to cover additional hours is a plus. Our clinic operates from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting patient interviews to complete necessary forms.
  • Scheduling and managing patient appointments, including cancellations and referrals.
  • Answering phone calls and addressing questions regarding insurance and payments.
  • Reviewing and updating patient information to ensure accuracy.
  • Accepting payments and maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
  • Performing general clerical tasks to support daily operations.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional customer service skills with every interaction.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Friendly, empathetic, and responsible demeanor.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Competence in using office technology, including computers and telephones.
  • Knowledge of patient scheduling systems and electronic medical records is advantageous.
