Job Title: Senior Analytical Chemist

Veranova L P is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analytical Chemist to join our dynamic team in New England. As a key member of our Analytical Development team, you will be responsible for developing and validating analytical methods, conducting sample analyses, and ensuring the quality of our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and validate analytical methods for raw materials, in-process, and final drug substance.
  • Conduct method validations, verifications, and transfers in accordance with ICH guidelines.
  • Utilize various analytical instruments, techniques, and computer skills to support project activities.
  • Develop and qualify analytical methods, and provide routine tests such as KF, ROI, UV, and IR as needed.
  • Learn and follow all required Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Develop an understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
  • Document experiments and results in laboratory notebooks or other designated forms.
  • Present scientific results and observations to team leaders and participate in client conferences and meetings.
  • Gain an understanding of project management activities, including purchasing of materials, meeting timelines, budgets, and project goals.
  • Work effectively and efficiently within budgetary constraints.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Work properly in a controlled substance environment.
  • Properly maintain personal training records.
Requirements:
  • BS in Chemistry or equivalent with 1-3 years related experience in industry.
  • Experience with common analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV, CAD, IR, KF, LC-MS AIR JET SIEVE, ICP-MS, and ICP-OES.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret English-language chemical periodicals, scientific journals, and regulatory documents.
  • Ability to conduct analyses using scientific methods, standard protocols, and instrumentation with some supervision.
  • Demonstrate a basic knowledge of analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, and relevant mathematics as appropriate at the level of BS degree.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of computers and standard software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, and Chemdraw etc).
  • Ability to perform work in accordance with company policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work constructively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate ability to learn new technique skills.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of general safety requirements as appropriate (e.g., sample handling, inventory, disposing, and shipping of hazardous materials, etc.).
  • Ability to describe routine laboratory equipment and analysis procedures to others.
  • Ability to recognize basic equipment or data output problems and then take appropriate action under direct supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
