Patient Care Technician Job Summary

This role will assist professional nursing staff and Emergency Physicians by performing direct and indirect patient care as delegated by the RN or Physician.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct and indirect care to patients.
  • Performs secretarial duties: answering phones, placing calls, order entry, logging patient information, and obtaining old records.
  • Assists with cleaning patient treatment areas.
  • Restocks and orders supplies for patient treatment areas, kitchenettes, nursing station, and supply carts.
  • Cleans instruments and utensils and delivers to sterile processing department.
  • Observes and reports changes in patient's physical and emotional condition.
  • Transports patients to appropriate areas.
  • Keeps patient treatment areas, kitchenette, storage areas, and nursing station in order.

Qualifications:
  • High school or equivalent.
