Job Summary:

Eaton's Electrical Engineering & Services division is seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Lead Application Engineer in Houston, TX. This position involves leading technical proposal development and providing power distribution application support for various regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead technical proposal packages for the Houston region and other areas as needed.
  • Respond to requests from North American sales, channel partners, and reps across industrial, commercial, government, and utility segments.
  • Provide detailed project specification analysis, lead pricing development, and construction estimating/subcontractor scope of work.
  • Support complex proposals related to large turnkey projects.
  • Offer unique solutions beyond standard specifications to provide greater customer value and incorporate lessons learned to improve solution and pricing strategies.
  • Support Eaton equipment application engineers in influencing customer and consultation specifications.
  • Lead and support project hand-off activities and capture "extras" on projects beyond the original specification.
  • Attend and lead customer presentations via joint customer visits with sales channels.
  • Contribute to the digital development and standardization of pricing models, quotation tools, and processes.
  • Help drive sales growth by supporting sales leads from other channels and areas.
  • Visit job sites with Eaton field service personnel or sales to enhance understanding of Eaton products and field activities.
  • Actively support division-wide initiatives and new offering development.
  • Support contracts terms and conditions review and track proposal activities.
  • Support and mentor junior team members.
  • Travel up to 25%.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or military experience with a minimum of 3 years of field service/proposal generation experience specific to our services in the electrical industry.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Houston, TX will be considered.
  • Must have a valid and unrestricted driver's license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer registration.
  • Power distribution field experience in servicing, maintaining, and testing electrical power distribution equipment.
  • Working knowledge of troubleshooting, tests, and repair techniques.
  • Working knowledge of pricing and proposal generation in the electrical industry.
  • Demonstrated ability in verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced understanding of competitor's electrical, electronic, and mechanical products and services.
  • Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Experience in writing and reviewing subcontractor work scopes and Subcontractor agreements.
  • Experience with risk evaluation and risk management.
  • Estimating experience in substation and electrical system installations.
  • NETA Associate Member.
