Senior Biostatistician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Biostatistician to join our team at The Emmes Company, LLC. As a Senior Biostatistician, you will play a key role in leading collaborations with clinical investigators to determine study design, contribute to protocol development, and author statistical analysis plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and direct the work of Biostatisticians, Associate Biostatisticians, and SAS programmers on clinical research studies.
  • Provide expert consultation to projects across the company on statistical methodology.
  • Solve complex statistical problems and provide technical review of proposed statistical design for research studies.
  • Lead the project team's development of study analysis plans and statistical programs to perform analyses and display study data.
  • Stay up-to-date with current statistical and medical literature to ensure the adoption of sound methodologies.
  • Develop and implement innovative statistical approaches to enhance current knowledge and practices.
  • Ensure the scientific integrity of research projects and the accuracy of reported results.
  • Perform sample size calculations and provide leadership in the statistical design of research projects.
  • Review protocols and case report forms to ensure protocol objectives are met and standards are maintained.
  • Develop study assignment allocation schemas and documentation.
  • Lead the development of the methods and results sections of clinical study reports and scientific publications.
  • Represent EMMES at regulatory meetings.
  • Participate in the development and updating of Standard Operating Procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in biostatistics, statistics, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of related experience with a Master's degree or 1 year of related experience with a PhD.
  • Experience with methodological statistical research, including publication and/or presentation of work in statistical methods development.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with statistical methods and applications in clinical research.
  • Strong programming skills in SAS and/or R.
  • Expertise in state-of-the-art data manipulation and statistical methodology.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex statistical concepts, both written and oral.
