Postdoctoral Research Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team at Wake Forest University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in computational biology and experience in protein design, with a focus on improving the description of van der Waals forces using density functional theory.
Key Responsibilities- Design and perform experiments to study histone posttranslational modifications and computational protein design
- Maintain accurate lab documentation and develop computational programs to assist with experimental activities
- Train and mentor undergraduates and assist in preparation of proposals and manuscripts
- Mentor other postdocs, graduate students, and undergraduates on their research projects
- PhD in a relevant field
- Experience in deep learning models and algorithms for protein design, protein structures, and bioinformatics
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with Rosetta, AlphaFold, and molecular dynamics simulations
- Excellent communication and project management skills
The successful candidate will be expected to work in a collaborative environment and be available to work in the lab from 10 am to 4 pm on workdays. The position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently and strategically.
