About the Department

Our Emergency Department has been a Level 1 trauma center since 1982, with numerous specialty accreditations. The co-located Brenner Children's Hospital Emergency Department is North Carolina's first Level 1 pediatric trauma center. Our clinical affiliate physicians staff 27 emergency departments across the state.
