Job Summary

The University at Albany seeks a highly skilled and organized Administrative Manager to provide critical support to the Department. This role will be responsible for coordinating fiscal, personnel, and facilities management, as well as providing administrative assistance to the Chair and faculty members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze fiscal account activity, personnel management, and facility management to ensure efficient operations.
  • Review and reconcile departmental budget and expenditure requests to ensure accuracy.
  • Hire and oversee departmental student personnel, provide HR support, and assist with onboarding.
  • Manage CNSE spaces and serve as the primary point of contact for Facilities Management.
  • Act as a liaison between the Department and various campus administrative offices, resolving issues and providing support.
  • Supervise administrative assistants, work-study students, and student assistants, providing leadership and direction to ensure maximum performance and dedication.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum two years of professional experience in an office setting.
  • Proven ability to learn and use new technology, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a higher education setting, particularly with faculty and staff.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, accounting, purchasing, and HR policies and guidelines.
  • Familiarity with University systems, such as PeopleSoft and Business Intelligence.
Eligibility

Eligible candidates must be employed at the University at Albany campus, hold a permanent, term, or probationary appointment, and be in a State-funded UUP professional position.
