Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnostic Imaging: Perform a wide range of advanced abdominal, obstetric, gynecological, vascular, and small parts ultrasound procedures, ensuring optimal imaging quality for both routine and urgent cases.
  • Critical Findings Recognition: Identify and document significant clinical findings such as deep vein thrombosis and ectopic pregnancies, adhering to established protocols for physician review.
  • Equipment Proficiency: Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, promptly reporting any technical issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assisting Procedures: Support physicians during various interventional procedures, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques and safety protocols.
  • Patient Interaction: Gather patient histories and explain procedures to alleviate concerns, ensuring a supportive environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in departmental quality assurance initiatives and contribute to accreditation processes.
  • Safety and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following infection control standards and ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to coordinate patient scheduling and enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest advancements in ultrasound technology and maintain required certifications through ongoing education.
Qualifications:
  • Registered Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification in Abdomen and OB/GYN is required.
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health is preferred, along with relevant experience in ultrasound imaging.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong proficiency in various ultrasound techniques including abdominal, pelvic, and vascular studies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated reliability and adaptability in a clinical setting.
