Job Description

We are seeking a caring and compassionate Activity Assistant to join our team at Colonial Manor Nursing Center.

Job Summary:

  • To assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs for residents.
  • To ensure that all activity progress notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided and indicate the resident's response to the service.
  • To develop and maintain a good working rapport with other departments within the facility to assure that daily activities can be performed without interruption.
  • To create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis throughout the facility.
Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating activity programs.
  2. Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement.
  3. Participate in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of residents and families.
  4. Participate in discharge planning, development, and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments.
  5. Interview residents or family members to obtain activity information.
  6. Involve residents and families in planning activity programs when possible.
  7. Assume the authority, responsibility, and accountability of the Activity Assistant.
  8. Coordinate activities with other departments as necessary.
  9. Keep abreast of economic conditions and situations and recommend adjustments in activity programs.
  10. Ensure all charted activity progress notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided.
  11. Perform administrative requirements, such as completing forms and reports.
Requirements:
  • A minimum high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
  • CNA Certification is preferred.
  • A Class C driver's license is also required.

Salary Information:

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $40,000 and $50,000, based on location and experience. This figure may vary depending on individual circumstances.
