Position Overview

The GAGPP team is seeking a Strategic Advisor focused on State and Local Legislative Affairs. This role is pivotal in providing expert leadership in legislative activities, particularly in engaging with the Denver City Council and the Colorado State Legislature.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison for state and local legislative matters, advising on policies that align with our mission.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executive agencies and City Council members.
  • Conduct research on legislative trends and provide comprehensive support on advocacy and educational initiatives.
  • Oversee compliance and administrative tasks, contributing to operational improvements.
  • Prepare data and insights to support strategic engagement with legislative bodies.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and assess the effectiveness of legislative strategies.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, or a related field; a graduate degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in government affairs or public policy.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in navigating complex political environments and developing innovative solutions.
  • A commitment to fostering inclusive engagement strategies that resonate with various communities.
