Job Title: Principal Consultant, Air Quality

ERM is seeking a motivated Principal Consultant, Air Quality to join the ERM team in Denver, CO.

This is a partner-track opportunity for an air quality professional looking to further advance their career with a global environmental leader and to make a significant impact in successfully implementing ERM's global strategy.

ERM is structured to encourage collaboration and networking among regional offices, providing opportunities to collaborate with ERM's national technical teams to share expertise and consulting opportunities.

Our leaders proactively work together to build strategies and campaigns around key business drivers for our clients, with the primary focus of finding and delivering high-profile rewarding projects and building our business, whether it be for permitting compliance strategy and emission inventories, regulatory auditing, greenhouse gas reporting regulations, new state and federal rule standards, energy management and transition, or management systems.

As a senior leader on this team, you will be fully accountable for successfully selling and consulting for air quality and environmental compliance projects to build a sustainable business locally, while networking with ERM's global technical team to share best practices across the industry.

In this position, the successful candidate will participate in and lead a variety of projects covering the full spectrum of ERM's services, including auditing and environmental program development.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of air quality and multi-media environmental compliance including stormwater, water resources, wastewater, and hazardous materials and waste programs with specific knowledge of Colorado's regulatory requirements.

We are looking for someone with strong connections in the regulatory and air permitting community with established relationships with manufacturing, technology, oil & gas, or mining companies to expand our corporate and facility-level compliance services in the sector of the candidate's expertise in Colorado and the West.

Contribute to the development and implementation of a strategic market/business plan, provide leadership, and deliver financial results to expand ERM's Air Quality and Environmental Compliance Service Areas and client base, particularly in the manufacturing, mining, oil & gas, technology, or chemical sectors.

Serve as a key member of the "core" technical team to drive double-digit profitable growth of ERM's air quality services across North America.

Serve as a Senior expert for strategic air permits and compliance programs for a variety of industrial clients with complex technical/regulatory issues.

Work closely with clients and develop strong relationships to understand specific processes and develop a permitting and compliance strategy to help clients maintain maximum operating flexibility.

Achieve client's expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.

Manage project deliverables, budgets, and schedules as a lead for our existing teams.

As a "seller/doer," contribute to expanding ERM's air consulting and compliance services annually.

Capitalize on existing client relationships to expand ERM's profile and market share in the regional air quality market and other service-line offerings through a combination of excellence in technical delivery and business development.

Mentor junior and mid-level staff in the proper planning and execution of air quality projects, and in directing or conducting independent technical reviews of work products.

Support the general growth and development of ERM's Global Air Quality Services.

Collaborate with other ERM global practitioners to execute air quality projects, including participating on teams comprised of air quality professionals from multiple offices around the global organization.

Successfully develop a working understanding of ERM's other consulting service areas and actively support cross-selling these services to existing clients.

Bachelor of Science in chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering or related degree.

~6+ years' experience of solid air quality consulting experience, with a high degree of technical competence in Title V, PSD, NSR, BACT, and MACT.

~Knowledge of local, state, and federal air regulations.

~Strong track record of managing project deliverables, schedule, and budgets.

~Understanding of the Colorado Department of Environmental Quality requirements.

~Understanding of the manufacturing, oil & gas, technology, and chemical industries in Colorado and the companies operating in this sector, including existing relationships that can be leveraged into new business.

~Consistent "seller/doer" track record, including successfully winning large and strategic projects.

~An established reputation in the local marketplace and recognized technical expertise in one of ERM's existing service offerings, which include, but are not limited to air quality and climate change, environmental, health, and safety compliance assurance, process safety, sustainability, and environmental permitting.

~8+ years' experience of solid air quality consulting experience, with a high degree of technical competence in Title V, PSD, NSR, BACT, and MACT.

~Certification in field:

P.CSP, CHMM, or similar registration.

~Familiarity with stack testing and ambient air measurements.

~Advanced knowledge of environmental compliance-related areas for example: air dispersion modeling, stormwater, Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plans, waste, water resources, Risk Management Planning, California Environmental Quality Act permitting, multi-media auditing, etc.

For the Principal Consultant, Air Quality position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $115,000 - $158,400 USD.

An employee's pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary based performance bonus.
