Cardiologist Invasive Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking an Invasive Cardiologist to join our team at Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute (AHMHI) in St. Paul, Minnesota. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will work collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.
Key Position Details:
- Full-time inpatient and outpatient practice
- 8 and 12 hour shifts
- 32 cardiologists and 19 advanced practice providers
- 4 vascular surgeons
- EMR system: Epic
Responsibilities:
- Manage complex cardiac conditions, including heart attacks and life-threatening abnormal heartbeat rhythms
- Manage diseases of the heart and blood vessels
- Perform cardiac imaging, including Echocardiography, CT scan, MRI scan, and Nuclear studies
- Participate in multidisciplinary team approach to case management
- Utilize quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or work flows
Requirements:
- Doctoral degree in Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an approved school of medicine
- Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program in Internal Medicine or foreign equivalency training
- Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited Fellowship training program in Interventional Cardiology or foreign equivalency training
- Demonstrated experience in Interventional Cardiology
Licenses/Certifications:
- MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required
- Board Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a certificate of special qualification in cardiovascular disease upon hire required
- Board Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a certificate of special qualification in interventional cardiology, or in Interventional Cardiology by the AOA Board of Internal Medicine for practices performing invasive, interventional cardiology upon hire required
- Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- ACLS certification required upon hire
Physical Demands:
- Medium Work*: Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), Up to 25 lbs. frequently
