Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional patient-oriented service in a clinical or front office setting, ensuring a positive experience for every patient.
  • Perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties related to patient care, including greeting and checking in patients, answering phones, and processing paperwork.
  • Collect patient co-pays and insurance payments, and verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Utilize computer systems to enter and verify patient data, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Communicate directly with patients and families to complete the registration process, gathering necessary clinical information and processing referrals and pre-authorizations.
  • Identify outstanding balances and attempt to collect any amount due, while maintaining a compassionate and respectful approach.
  • Generate and review patient data reports, following up on issues and inconsistencies as necessary.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of customer service experience in a hospital, office setting, or similar environment.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in typing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and insurance policies and procedures.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.

Physical and Work Environment:

  • Standing for long periods of time (10 to 12 hours) while using a workstation on wheels and phone/headset.
