Job Summary

South Coast Children's Society is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Therapist to join our team. As a Clinical Therapist, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to children and youth, including assessment, psychotherapy, case management, and crisis intervention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and family therapy sessions to children and youth, utilizing evidence-based interventions and methodologies.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans to address the unique needs of each client.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive and cohesive care to clients.
  • Communicate effectively with outside agencies, including schools, social workers, and healthcare providers, to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Develop and implement therapeutic groups and family sessions to support clients and their families.
  • Assist in coordinating and collaborating with outside agencies, such as Probation Departments, Schools, and County Behavioral Health Services.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
  • 1+ years' experience in report writing, assessment/diagnostic skills, group and family therapy skills.
  • PsyD/PhD/LCSW/LMFT preferred. If not licensed, active registration with the California BBS or Board of Psychology as Registered Psychologist.
  • Valid CA driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Completion of CPR/First Aid within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle without restrictions, often in heavy traffic and frequently long distances to ensure safe transport to client settings and to safely transport clients to appointments as needed.
  • Senses of vision, hearing and smell sufficient to regularly operate a motor vehicle, to visualize threats in the environment or risks to clients, and to operate safely in the field.
  • Required to occasionally lift and carry 10-20 pounds.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, climb stairs (1 or more flights) and walk while in route to and during family visits.
  • Regularly required to sit and use computer in office settings.
