Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist at Research Medical Center, you will play a vital role in the assessment and treatment of patients with cardiopulmonary dysfunction. With a strong foundation in respiratory care, you will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures ordered by physicians, including medical gas administration and aerosol therapy.
  • Obtain and analyze blood specimens, perform patient testing, and operate and maintain respiratory and cardiopulmonary equipment.
  • Provide mechanical ventilation, maintain artificial airways, and assist with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Monitor equipment and patient response to therapy, and complete documentation of in-patient and departmental records.
  • Maintain safety and infection control practices, and participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices.
Requirements
  • Associates or Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current Respiratory Therapist license from the State Board for Respiratory Care.
  • NBRC RRT certification within 6 months of hire.
  • One year of recent clinical experience preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
