Job Title: Universal Preschool Associate Teacher

The Lansing School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Universal Preschool Associate Teacher. This role is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and contribute to the district's mission to provide an excellent education to all students in a safe and nurturing environment.

Job Summary:

The Universal Preschool Associate Teacher will work closely with teachers and school leaders to ensure the safety and success of students in the Universal Preschool program. This role requires flexibility, as the individual will be required to fill in vacant spots as needed across the Universal Preschool sites.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate a passion for working with and empathy for Universal Preschool and GSRP students
  • Effectively prioritize tasks as assigned by teachers and school leaders
  • Ensure the safety of students in the classroom and comply with Universal Preschool and GSRP requirements
  • Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions
  • Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
  • Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission
Requirements:
  • Must have one of the following:
  • Associate's Degree in early childhood education or a related field
  • Valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or an existing 120 Training-Hour approval by MDE
  • Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with Universal Preschool or GSRP students in an urban setting
Compensation:

$16.86 - $21.48 an hour

Work Schedule:

This role traditionally works a normal 35 hour per week schedule during the school year.
