Job Title: Materials Supervisor

At Johnson Controls, we are seeking a highly skilled Materials Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient storage and movement of materials within our warehouses and production floor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the storage and movement of materials, ensuring accurate inventory levels and timely delivery to production lines.
  • Maintain training plans, standard operating procedures, and standard work instructions for all Material Handlers.
  • Drive changeover meetings to review KPIs between shifts and focus on a safety culture.
  • Ensure all warehouse operations have proper material handling equipment, PPE, and resources to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Assist in resolving issues or potential issues related to warehouse or material control within the plant floor.
  • Communicate performance expectations to team members and provide coaching to reinforce positive performance.
  • Support shop floor initiatives, including strategizing with your team.
  • Lead by example to promote employee engagement and teamwork.
  • Ensure that employees are following Johnson Controls Safety Rules and OSHA regulations.
  • Audit SAP transactions related to inventory movements, identify root cause, and implement corrective actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare action plans to achieve results and growth objectives.
  • Maintain effective working relationships and communication with all departments.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities, implementing lean manufacturing practices measured through reduced pick time and improved inventory turns.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years of Materials Management experience in a manufacturing warehouse or production control environment.
  • Associate degree and a minimum of five (5) years of Materials Management experience in a manufacturing warehouse or production control environment.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Warehouse Supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency using MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work 1st Shift (5:00AM – 3:00PM, Monday-Friday) as well as weekend overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • SAP experience.
  • RF scanning experience.
