Position Overview:

The Quality Assurance Engineer for Suppliers plays a pivotal role in addressing the needs of various stakeholders including Procurement, New Product Development, Manufacturing Operations, Safety, and Quality Assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. **Supplier Quality Leadership**
- Drive supplier quality initiatives.
- Ensure alignment of current products with industry benchmarks and serve as a reliable resource for all testing requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers to establish and approve new testing protocols.
- Develop internal testing documentation and processes.
- Assist New Product Development in defining product specifications.
- Work with Logistics Solutions to optimize cross-functional testing resources.

2. **New Product Validation**
- Spearhead the validation testing for new products based on design specifications.
- Coordinate testing for prototypes and initial samples with suppliers or external laboratories.
- Provide on-site assistance during prototype and production phases at domestic and international suppliers.
- Establish testing standards for common failures and report on improvement efforts regularly.
- Collaborate with suppliers to implement corrective actions identified during testing.
- Communicate monthly with stakeholders regarding trends and corrective measures.

3. **Field Service Analysis**
- Conduct field assessments at customer locations to investigate premature failures.
- Perform teardown analyses of returned components to identify root causes and propose solutions.
- Develop durability testing standards that comply with warranty criteria.
- Partner with suppliers for ongoing enhancements of components to ensure compliance with durability standards.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a recognized certification in Quality Management.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality engineering capacity, with at least 3 years focused on testing.
- Familiarity with testing standards and reporting, preferably ASTM.
- Knowledge of Quality standards such as ISO9001, IATF 16949, VDA 6.0, or similar.
- Proven experience in technical analysis.
- Background as a project lead or manager for new product introductions in manufacturing settings.
- Proficient in applying statistical process control methods to enhance process performance.
- Strong skills in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and understanding of Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information effectively.
- Bilingual abilities are preferred (English and Mandarin/Traditional Chinese).
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
