We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Husbandry Technician I to join our team at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. As a key member of our ARC Research Services unit, you will be responsible for providing exceptional animal care and husbandry services to support our research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Execute assigned animal husbandry tasks with guidance, including maintenance of animal holding and procedure rooms, routine sanitation, food and water supply management, and scheduled cage changing.
- Perform routine techniques on animals, such as treatments and formalin fixation, as per defined guidelines.
- Assist in veterinary treatments on research models, special observations, and other study-directed requests.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records as required.
- Escalate issues and problems according to set standards and SOPs.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Experience in animal care or veterinary facility or animal husbandry related field preferred.
- Some experience with disinfection, sterilization, sanitation, and environmental microbiological analysis preferred.
- Some experience with changes in animal health conditions preferred.
- Some experience operating animal caging and sanitation equipment preferred.
A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this role is $34.00 per hour.
