Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Child Watch Attendant to join our team at the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe, caring, and fun learning environment for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years while parents utilize the YMCA facilities.

About the Role

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. As a Child Watch Attendant, you will be part of a team that empowers people in all forms by improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across our neighborhoods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Care for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years of age
  • Monitor drop-off and pick-up of children
  • Play actively with the children by adapting activities to their needs
  • Communicate with parents regarding their children's behavior and safety
  • Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and order in the child watch area
Requirements and Qualifications

We are looking for an individual who is committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment. Required qualifications include six months or more of related experience, a positive attitude, and previous experience with youth and diverse populations. Knowledge and skills in program activities and related office equipment are also essential. Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are preferred.

We offer a competitive salary range of $16.28-$16.78 per hour, depending on qualifications.
