Position Summary:

The role of the accounting clerk involves maintaining up-to-date financial records, generating reports, and reconciling bank statements. This position requires the use of accounting software to manage business transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers, and receipts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record customer payments by processing cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
  • Verify and enter transactions to post revenues accurately.
  • Maintain updated receivables by totaling outstanding invoices.
  • Investigate account discrepancies by collaborating with sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and customers.
  • Address invalid or unauthorized deductions by making necessary adjustments.
  • Facilitate collections by reviewing customer payment plans, histories, and coordinating with the collections department.
  • Summarize receivables by managing invoice accounts and preparing monthly transfers to the accounts receivable department.
  • Safeguard the organization’s value by ensuring confidentiality of information.
