Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Administrator to join our Public Utilities Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, and contract administration of professional services and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assure adherence to the City's Standard Operating Procedures for Expenditure Contracts and compliance with procurement policies.
  • Monitor the administration of contracts for professional services, materials, and equipment, and contracted construction.
  • Review, verify, and make recommendations concerning professional service and construction contracts.
  • Prepare professional services and construction contracts for advertisement bidding.
  • Tabulate contract bids, contract payments, and related matters.
  • Assist the Director in resolving contract-related problems.
  • Coordinate contracts with the City's Attorneys.
  • Assist in grant applications and files periodic grant reports and payment requests.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Business Management, or Construction Management.
  • Considerable experience in project management and contract administration of construction projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of contract administration procedures, project and construction management principles, and accounting principles.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other City officials, employees, contractors, engineers, architects, and the general public.
