About the Role

Nitsch Engineering is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to contribute to our team in Massachusetts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing structural systems for various projects.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize structural and CAD software to create preliminary and final designs.
  • Conduct independent structural calculations and studies to ensure project feasibility.
  • Prepare detailed plans, specifications, and estimates for construction projects.
  • Provide construction administration services to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Perform bridge inspections to identify potential issues and recommend repairs.
  • Prepare load rating calculations and reports for highway and rail bridges.
  • Design and prepare documents for bridge structures, retaining walls, culverts, utilities, and other structural elements.
  • Assist with project management tasks as needed to ensure project success.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on structures.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Massachusetts or ability to obtain MA PE within one year if licensed in another state.
  • 5-10 years of relevant design experience.
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with STAAD, MDX, AASHTOWare Bridge Rating, and Bentley's LEAP Bridge Enterprise.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO, building design codes, and MassDOT bridge design policies and guidelines.
