Position Summary: The Residential Youth Support Specialist plays a crucial role in guiding and supporting young individuals aged 10 to 17 in a short-term residential care environment. This position requires a commitment to one of the available shifts, ensuring full availability when scheduled.
Available Shifts:
- 1st Shift: 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM (2 positions available)
- 2nd Shift: 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM (1 position available)
- 3rd Shift: 10:45 PM - 7:15 AM (1 position available)
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor youth in a residential setting, providing essential life skills through demonstration and instruction.
- Conduct daily medication reviews and ensure compliance with quality assurance standards.
- Guide clients in developing healthy habits and ensuring their readiness for daily activities.
- Facilitate transportation for clients to off-site activities as needed.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for all residents.
- Complete personal training objectives within designated timeframes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma is required, along with a minimum of six months of relevant experience, preferably in a residential care setting for at-risk youth. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and data management.
- Capacity to adapt to changing situations and maintain composure under pressure.
Work Environment: The position is primarily sedentary, requiring sitting for approximately 70% of the time, with occasional light lifting of up to 25 lbs. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate.
