Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work as a Clinical Pharmacist in a dynamic and fast-paced environment at the University of Virginia. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications by providing medication order verification, assessing for optimal drug product selection, dosage regimen design, and effective administration and drug therapy monitoring services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical pharmaceutical care to patients
  • Enhance the quality of delivery of care
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Pharmacy distributive services
  • Support the educational and professional development of the Pharmacy department
  • Engage in professional self-development
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's in Pharmacy or Pharm. D Degree required
  • PGY-1 residency required or equivalent hospital experience (3 years)
  • PGY-2 residency in Pediatrics is preferred
  • Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License required
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required
Physical Demands:
  • Sitting for prolonged periods
  • Repetitive motion: typing
  • Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to write legibly
  • Ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs
