Job Title: Secondary Social Studies Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Secondary Social Studies Teacher to join our team at Cumberland County Technical Education Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and supervision to students in a supportive and positive classroom environment.

Job Summary:

The Secondary Social Studies Teacher will be responsible for teaching Social Studies to students in grades [insert grades]. The teacher will develop and implement lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide feedback to students. The teacher will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and respectful classroom environment, communicating with parents and guardians, and collaborating with other teachers and staff members.

Responsibilities:
  1. Plan, organize, and deliver instruction to students in Social Studies, using a variety of teaching methods and materials.
  2. Assess student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and guardians.
  3. Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and attendance.
  4. Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other teachers and staff members.
  5. Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to develop and implement curriculum and instructional strategies.
  6. Participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching skills and knowledge.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Social Studies or a related field.
  2. Valid New Jersey instructional certificate in Social Studies.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff members.
  5. Ability to use technology to support instruction and communication.
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Master's degree in Social Studies or a related field.
  2. Experience teaching Social Studies in a secondary school setting.
  3. Knowledge of curriculum and instructional strategies in Social Studies.
  4. Ability to speak multiple languages.
