Position Overview: The Facilities Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing and executing maintenance operations at the Brownsville Plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of all personnel by implementing best safety practices, including LOTO, confined space protocols, and incident investigations.
  • Manage maintenance activities related to the installation and repair of machinery and electrical equipment utilized in production.
  • Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program to promote safe working conditions and minimize production interruptions.
  • Oversee inventory management and procurement of necessary parts for equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with external contractors by obtaining bids and managing their work.
  • Supervise and mentor Millwrights and Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) apprentices in troubleshooting equipment.
  • Participate in the repair and rebuilding of production machinery, utilizing hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Organize and prioritize maintenance schedules, track production downtime, and plan maintenance activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes by engaging with the Maintenance Excellence program.
  • Provide regular updates to the Plant Manager regarding safety, maintenance issues, and ongoing projects.
  • Involve in employee performance management, including hiring and disciplinary actions.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) certification preferred.
  • Journeyman Millwright certification preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a journeyman-level millwright role or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of electrical principles.
  • Experience in project planning, preventative maintenance programs, and supervisory roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Working Environment: The Facilities Maintenance Lead will spend time both on the plant floor working on equipment and in an office setting for planning and reporting purposes.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Will need to walk, climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch to assess site conditions as necessary.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment, including eye and ear protection, respiratory gear, and fall prevention harnesses.
  • Good reasoning and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Exposure to slippery surfaces, pinch points, trip hazards, and overhead obstacles is expected.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions is required.
