Position Overview:
As a Tank Welder, you will be responsible for laying out, aligning, and welding various fabricated, cast, and forged components to create structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, and more, following detailed blueprints and metallurgical guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine the appropriate type and size of piping or related materials based on project specifications.
  • Plan and select equipment for layout, assembly, and welding, utilizing knowledge of geometry and metal properties.
  • Employ various welding techniques, including Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, and Shielded Metal Arc processes.
  • Accurately position, align, and fit components in multiple body positions.
  • Utilize arc and gas welding equipment to assemble metal components for products such as piping systems and structural shapes.
  • Connect welding equipment to achieve specified amperage and voltage.
  • Initiate the power supply to generate electric current for welding tasks.
  • Guide the welding electrode along the weld line, ensuring proper depth and bead formation.
  • Apply filler rod as necessary and prepare weld joints through cleaning and degreasing.
  • Inspect welds for compliance with size and quality specifications.
  • Handle the loading, transportation, and unloading of materials and tools.
  • Assist in securing materials during installation and perform minor maintenance on tools.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and project regulations, completing additional duties as required.
