Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Safety Officer to join our team at Carle Health. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading and implementing patient safety initiatives, quality improvement programs, and risk management strategies to ensure the highest level of care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement patient safety initiatives to reduce medical errors and improve patient outcomes
  • Lead quality improvement projects to enhance patient care and safety
  • Conduct root cause analyses and apparent cause analyses to identify and address safety concerns
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure patient safety
  • Monitor and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement education programs to promote patient safety and quality improvement
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to stakeholders on patient safety and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Healthcare-related field
  • Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License Illinois upon hire
  • Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) within 2 years
  • Basic Certificate in Quality & Safety (IHI) within 1 year or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) upon hire
  • Five (5) years hospital/ambulatory healthcare experience
  • Three (3) years of quality, safety and performance improvement experience in the hospital/ambulatory setting
