Key Responsibilities
In your role as a Nursing Supervisor, you will oversee our nursing and administrative staff, playing a crucial role in delivering top-tier nursing care to inmates/detainees. You will also prioritize maintaining a safe and secure working environment.
- Cultivate relationships with correctional staff, nursing personnel, contract providers, and relevant agencies.
- Manage staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and monitor overtime.
- Assist management with recruitment, onboarding, supervision, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure staff compliance with all facility policies.
- Conduct audits of medical records, narcotic counts, referrals, and sick calls.
- Maintain sufficient medical supplies to meet the needs of detainees/inmates.
- Ensure that detainees/inmates serving as medical orderlies are adequately trained in sanitary practices.
- Monitor care for serious medical conditions that may pose life-threatening or liability risks.
- Adhere to industry and company accreditation standards.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing program; a current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of employment is required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of direct work experience is preferred.
- Supervisory experience and proficiency in crisis intervention, medical emergencies, physical assessments, medical nursing care, and psychiatric nursing care are preferred.
- Ability to work independently in performing nursing diagnoses and providing appropriate follow-up treatment.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently: Lift or carry and push/pull up to 40 lbs.; walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, and reach above shoulder level.
- Occasionally: Lift or carry and push/pull up to 60 lbs.; operate machinery and climb.
