Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Controls Technician to join our team at Upper Occoquan Service Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing process instrumentation, electronic equipment, and computer systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair process instrumentation, including pH, ORP, DO, and temperature instruments, as well as lab instrumentation such as pH and spectrophotometers.
  • Work with electronic equipment, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration units, communications equipment, and computer systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of radio communications equipment, public address systems, security/alarm systems, and other electronic devices.
  • Collaborate with the Industrial Controls Manager to ensure the efficient operation of the plant.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college, trade/vocational school training, or experience in industrial instrumentation, computers, controls, HVAC, and communications systems preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial instrumentation, computers, controls, HVAC, and communications systems required for Industrial Controls Tech. II; 4 years of experience required for Industrial Controls Tech. I.
  • Sufficient color perception to distinguish colors of electrical wiring.
  • Valid vehicle operator's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including extensive walking, bending, stooping, climbing of stairs and ladders, lifting, and carrying up to 75 pounds.
  • Availability to work on call and overtime as required.
