Position Overview:
As a Project Manager specializing in Electrical Engineering, you will play a crucial role in a dedicated leadership team focused on delivering exceptional service to our clients. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing the daily management of electrical installation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct all aspects of project management including scope, scheduling, procurement, budgeting, client relations, and contract administration.
- Supervise contract administration activities, including change orders and submittals.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of project priorities and issues; prepare and present monthly status reports.
- Ensure compliance with all company contracts and understand the roles of all stakeholders involved.
- Obtain necessary permits and confirm insurance coverage for subcontractors.
- Organize and lead project meetings to ensure effective coordination of work activities.
- Manage and mentor project team members; set performance goals and conduct evaluations.
- Provide administrative and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Keep detailed project records and manage correspondence effectively.
- Foster positive relationships with counterparts at client and engineering firms.
- Engage in proposal development and presentations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction management.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record in managing projects within the water/wastewater sector from inception to completion.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with at least 4 years of supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with industry standards, state, and local codes.
- Proficient in interpreting contract drawings including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Security, and Architectural plans.
- Experience with water/wastewater construction projects and knowledge of Controls, P&ID Drawings, and SCADA systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in engineering or business is advantageous.
- Experience working with an electrical contractor on large-scale projects.
- DBIA and LEED Accreditation is a plus.
- Background in mass transit, rail, highway, aviation, or other infrastructure projects.
